About me

My name is Brendan O'Shaughnessy and I am here to listen to you. I have nearly 30 years’ experience of working with couples and would be happy to help you resolve any issue in your relationship.

I am accredited member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and have Post Graduate Degree in Counselling from U.C.C. I am also a member of the William Glasser Institute of Ireland graduating in Reality Therapy in 1995.

I see my role as one of understanding where you are and working with you to find a way out of your current difficulties. I’m not here to judge or tell you what to do but may offer some techniques or tools that could help.

Services

Couples Counselling

I have worked with the Cork Marriage Counselling Centre for 30 Years and was a Board Director of the National Domestic Violence Intervention Agency and other charities.

Individual Counselling

Around 40% of my experience is working with individuals dealing with life's challenges including Abuse, Anger Management, Anxiety, Bereavement, Depression, Health Related Issues, Personal Development, Self Esteem, Sex Related Issues, Stress, Trauma, Work Related Issues.

Supervision

Completed Diploma in Advanced Supervision across Professions – IACP Accredited & recognised by Supervisors Association of Ireland (SAI). My combination of Counselling and Business is a sound foundation for Supervision support to individuals in various caring professions.

Executive Coaching

Having worked with Multi National companies in Senior Management positions for the last 38 years, plus my counselling experience, I am in a unique place to support executives with personal and career development.
